Simone Garneau

I became a writer in a roundabout way. In university I studied geological engineering and space science but always felt I wanted to do something more creative. For a number of years, I worked as a researcher in film and documentary, contributed to a website about solar energy and co-created a digital platform for book recommendations. Along the way, I started to write short stories in my spare time. Only in the past few years, I decided to dedicate more time to writing. In 2020, I completed Humber College’s Graduate Certificate Program in Creative Writing, working with award-winning author Dennis Bock on an early draft of my first novel, My Accidental Life (which is now complete and out on submission). I was born in Halifax, lived in many places and now call Montreal home.
